Patients Charter

At the Molebridge Practice we work to a set of principles. These are set out in our patients charter which is shown below.

	Patients should be greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner in all circumstances.
	Patients have the right to confidentiality.
	Patients should be seen within 20 minutes of their appointment time. Where there is likely to be a delay patients should be informed.
	Patients should be treated with courtesy by GP’s and all other Health Care Providers and employees of the practice.
	The practice will offer information to patients on steps that can take to promote good health and avoid illness. This will include advice on self-help, which can be undertaken without reference to a doctor in the case of minor illnesses.
	Patients have the right to ask questions about their own health, illness and treatment and to have these questions answered.

Patient Confidentiality

All staff whether full time, part time or temporary are required to sign a confidentiality agreement to safeguard the security and confidentiality of information and work within the legal framework of the following statutory laws:

	The Data Protection Act (1984 & 1998)
	Access to Health Records Act (1990)
	The Computer Misuse Act (1990)
	The Copyright, Designs and Patent Acts (1998)

Complaints, Criticism & Suggestions

Occasionally things do not go as smoothly as we would like. This is often due to matters beyond our control, such as sudden emergencies. If you have a complaint or suggestion please speak or write to the Practice Manager.
