Out of Hours Service To Patients

When our surgery is closed the Primary Care Trust is responsible for commissioning services and they have arranged for emergency cover to be provided by

Thamesdoc.

The service is provided for medical advice and consultations which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

What is Thamesdoc?

Thamesdoc is the name given to the organisation which provides out-of-hours
services for patients requiring urgent medical care.

When should I see Thamesdoc?

You should contact Thamesdoc for URGENT medical consultations that cannot wait until the surgery reopens.

How do I contact Thamesdoc?

Telephone the surgery as usual on 01372 379941 or 01372 362099 Leatherhead for our recorded message or contact Thamesdoc direct on 0208 390 9991.

What happens when I call Thamesdoc?

Your call will be answered by a trained operator who will require some basic information: -

bulletThe telephone number for the duty GP to call back to speak to the patient caller.
bulletName and surgery address of your GP
bulletThe patients name, address, date of birth and GP
bulletBrief details of the patients illness any medical history and details of any medication.

The duty doctor will call you back as soon as possible.

There is no automatic right to a home visit. Please remember that it is the doctor’s decision as to whether you need to be seen.
They will decide on the most appropriate place to see the patient: at home or at an out of hours centre.

You may be asked to attend The New Cottage Hospital, West Park, Epsom, Surrey KT19 8PB or Dorking PCC, Clarendon House, 28 West Street, Dorking RH4 1QJ.
